Markus Bertl currently serves as a data and AI lead architect in the Unisys Automation Hub, where he helps organizations utilize data and AI for hyper-automation of business processes. Beyond his client-facing responsibilities, Markus works on integrating new AI and automation technologies into Unisys’ next-gen solutions. His previous experience includes implementing AI and natural language processing (NLP) projects for commercial, public sector and government clients in the police, defense and intelligence sectors.

Markus’ professional endeavors are bolstered by his in-depth healthcare knowledge, stemming from his work as a paramedic and involvement in international crisis management and disaster relief. He holds a bachelor’s in computing from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK, a master’s in digital healthcare and a Ph.D. from Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia, focusing on e-government and AI-based digital decision support systems

Markus has also made notable contributions to the academic sphere, having published several scholarly papers in high-ranking academic journals. Additionally, he regularly speaks at conferences, sharing his expertise in the field.
